Food and Nutrition (IIIB - 4.5 hrs) - Family Caregiver Class
Family Caregivers Class (4.5 hrs) At some time most homemaker-home care aides will prepare food for clients and therefore they need to know about food and nutrition and how they contribute to the physical, social and psychological well-being of people. The plan for homemaker-home care aide services for an individual client or family should indicate responsibility for maintaining proper nutrition.

Practicum: HCAI (VI - 2.5 hrs) - Professional Caregiver Class
Professional Caregivers Class (2.5 hrs) The goal of the practicum is to reinforce and help integrate learned skills and knowledge. You are eligible for this course once you have completed all of the other Level I classes (totalling 38.5 hours). Once you have completed those courses and taken this Practicum, you will receive your Level I Practicum certificate.

Understanding Dying and Death (IIH - 1.0 hrs) - Family Caregiver Class
Family Caregivers Class (1.0 hrs) The homemaker-home care aide becomes concerned with dying and death when providing services for the aged and for the terminally ill. With the growing interest in hospice care for the terminally ill, services for the dying at home will increase. Therefore, the trainee should have knowledge about the behavior and feelings of the terminally ill and how these feelings influence the care services and supportive relationship for the family.
